Birthstone Book Tag

I was tagged by Rakioddbooks! Thank you so much!

You all may have figured out by now that I am terrible at prefacing my tag posts so I am just going to start now.

Tag was founded by @imanadventurest and @FableHaven.

(I know quite a bit about birthstones because my dad works with jewelry, and I learned a slightly different version the the ones in this tag but its not my tag so I’m not going to change it. It bothers me a bit though, Just a little.)

Garnet (January): Associated with warding off negative forces and dark energies– Name a book with the darkest/evilest character you can think of.

25689033

Maybe not the darkest/evilest, but definitely the smartest/most realistically terrifying villain I’ve read in a long while.

Amethyst (February): Purple is associated with royalty– Name a book with regal qualities. You can base this off of characters or choose the King of all books.

22328546

Duh.

Aquamarine (March): Washed Out. – Name a ‘wishy washy’ character. A character who is not strong or a follower.

23203106

This could apply to all three characters in certain instances. You really need to read it to understand why I say this. Its good though, if weird.

Diamond (April): A Diamond in the rough. – Named a book that you loved, but that is not well known.

16065592

Terrible cover, but i loved the story. If your looking for a contemporary that isn’t about romance (there is a little, it is a minor aspect), then PLEASE read this book.

Emerald (May): Said to balance energy.  – Name two characters who balance each other well.

Ollie and Mortiz have such a great friendship, and they balance each other very well. Honestly, read this book.

Pearl (June): Associated with loyalty. – Name a character who is loyal to the end.

118229

If you read it you’ll understand.

Ruby (July): Blood red. – Name a book that made your blood boil, one that made you angry.

6609714

This book completely undermined its own message and irritated me.

the-selection-series

Okay, despite the fact I like this series, I can’t be the only one who wanted to punch America in the face the entire time.

Peridot (August): Pale green (it pales in comparison to other gems). – Name a supporting character who you like better than the main character.

I am going to go with Aidan from Illuminae. I liked him far more than Ezra for some reason.

23395680

Sapphire (September): Blue like the ocean which is calming.  – Name a book that had a calming effect on you.

Okay, I am not a calm reader. I am a very stressed out reader who gets stressed about the things that stress out my children (aka fictional characters.) That being said, Carry On was a very calming read to me.

9781447266945

Opal (October): Iridescent. – Name an iridescent book, this can be a book with a beautiful cover (Shiny? Lots of colour?) or you can base it of a character (Quirky? Colourful?)

My birth stone! (And actually most opals are synthetic and they are blue/green. They are incredibly shiny though.)

I love this special edition cover of Lady Midnight! Its SOOOO shiny. (Sorry for the terrible picture, my ceiling fan is missing two lightbulbs so the lighting is terrible.)

Topaz (November): Associated with resilience. – Name a book with a character who rises to the top in a time of adversity.

26200563

Sorry, I have a bit of an obsession of this book. But it is true.

Blue Zircon (December): Associated with friendship.– Name a book with a friendship you want to be a part of.

ravencycle__span

Most definitely (also why do I always think this word has an A in it?) The Raven Boys series. It has one of the best friendships I’ve ever read in any book.

I Tag:

Hope you enjoyed this! Can’t wait to see your tags! If I didn’t tag you but you want to do this feel free!

Honestly, I’m just proud that I managed to resist the urge to choose Harry Potter for half the questions.

When I do tags I forget every book I have ever read. Does anyone else have this problem?
